VCFRONT_a477 — LV Battery Unrecoverable

Full alert identifier: VCFRONT_a477_LVBatteryUnrecoverable

Historical alert: retained from an earlier reference.

Alert description

The low voltage battery management system (LVBMS) reports the low voltage (LV) battery is not recoverable. Indicates the LV battery is electrically disconnected from the rest of the electrical system via internal protection transistor (MOSFET). May indicate the LV battery requires replacement, with a separate alert present specific to that condition.

Potential impact

The LV battery is not recoverable, making replacement necessary.

Set condition

The LVBMS reports to the vehicle controller via local interconnect network (LIN) that the LV battery is not recoverable due to any of the following conditions: depleted LV battery state of charge (SoC) due to deep discharge; one or more cell voltage(s) at less than 2.0V; the sum of all cell voltages is less than 10.9V.

Clear condition

The LV battery is replaced and its internal protection transistor (MOSFET) is detected closed.
