The charge port (CP) electronic control unit (ECU) loses communication with the high voltage processor (HVP).
Potential impact
Charging does not start.
Set condition
The CP ECU does not receive all of the expected controller area network (CAN) messages from the HVP.
Clear condition
The CP ECU receives all of the expected controller area network (CAN) messages from the HVP.
Check other alerts
With Service Mode Plus enabled, open Service Alerts → All. Review the other alerts for clues to the cause of CP_w044.
